Know Your Story so you can Know Your Moments

Do you know the moments that make your story? Did you pick them? Or did they just weave themselves into your story - changing things when you weren't expecting it?

I got to sit down with a local podcaster recently. He and his partner pair coffee and podcasts. They love other people's stories - particularly as they pertain to faith. I love coffee and I have a story (1000's of them), so it was another good pairing.

I enjoy the spontaneity of podcasting. I don't like to rehearse those moments too much. It keeps it more real for me, and hopefully for anyone who may listen to my ramblings. My podcasting host asked me some questions and before I knew it, we were done and had plenty of stuff for people to ponder.

When I listened to it, I was struck by something - after I got over hearing the sound of my nasal voice. I was really aware of important moments in my story - moments that changed things. I encourage you to listen to the whole story, but here are a few pondering I have had since listening to the podcast.

  • Meaningful moments are seldom planned

  • Meaningful moments have the power to change your story - if you let them

  • Knowing your story and its meaningful moments becomes a filter for your living

  • Knowing your story and its meaningful moments writes a better story in the long run

I hope you know some of your moments in the midst of your 1000's of stories. I hope you know how they shifted your story - good or bad. I hope you're living in the wonderful and positive aftermath of unplanned but meaningful moments in your big story!
